North distillery revival on cards

Another north distillery could be resurrected later this year after plans were submitted for a multimillion-pound development in Caithness.
As whisky firms seek to take advantage of growing international demand for Scotland’s national drink, a distillery abandoned 135 years ago might soon be rebuilt near Thurso.
Aurora Brewing has applied for planning permission to re-establish Wolfburn Distillery in Thurso Business Park, just 380 yards from the site of the original building which closed in 1877.
