Supermarket Asda is to cut its fuel prices by 2p a litre from this morning – its third major price drop in three weeks.

Drivers filling up at the retail giant’s forecourts today will not pay more than 134.7p a litre for petrol and no more than 139.7p for diesel. It is the first time since late February that Asda diesel has fallen below the 140p mark.

Asda’s director of petrol trading Andy Peake said: “We’re chuffed to be offering a third price move in as many weeks to hard-pressed motorists.”
