Speeding trains probe at ‘near-miss’ crossing

THREE train drivers have been taken off driving duties after allegedly speeding at a “near-miss” level crossing in the Highlands.

An investigation is under way into the alleged incidents at the Delny rail crossing in Easter Ross. An oil worker and his family had a narrow escape at the crossing last month.

It is the crossing where two teenagers were killed five years ago.

A ScotRail spokeswoman said: “It is important to note that no ScotRail drivers have been suspended in relation to these incidents.
