New row rages over vote on city garden

A FRESH row broke out at Aberdeen Town House last night over the date of a crucial vote on the future of the City Garden Project.

Labour and SNP group chiefs clashed about a decision to bring a full council meeting forward to June 13 to decide the fate of the £140million redevelopment plan for Union Terrace Gardens.

Labour, the largest party in the new administration, has pledged to scrap the scheme, and leader Barney Crockett insisted he was simply abiding by a commitment to address the issue as quickly as possible.
