Gary Smith and John Marshall caused nearly £3,000 of damage at the Smithton on the outskirts of the Highland capital during a drunken rampage. The pair – from the self-styled Irish rebel band The Rising – burned carpets, destroyed beds and caused a flood by smashing a toilet cistern.
They then swore at proprietor Pamela Celli when she came to investigate. Their behaviour was branded “disgusting” by a sheriff yesterday. And although the duo have been ordered to pay for the damage they caused, the hotel is considering suing them.
