Thousands hit beach as temperature soars

TENS of thousands of sun-seekers flocked to north-east beaches at the weekend to make the most of the last of the sizzling temperatures.
The mercury rocketed to almost 28C in parts of Aberdeenshire, Moray and the Highlands, boosting the economy as businesses cashed in on the extra trade.
As many lapped up the rays, however, medics had to deal with people suffering from heatstroke and sunburn.
