Row over probe into troubled fire service
A ROW flared yesterday over plans for an investigation into what went wrong in the running of the troubled north fire board.
It came after it was suggested that a team from Highland Council should carry out the investigation.
One member of the newly-elected Highlands and Islands Fire Board warned the only way to restore public confidence in the board and service was to have an independent body investigate the events leading to a scathing report from the Accounts Commission.
