Grainger pulls towards career-defining race

Aberdonian Katherine Grainger has a glittering rowing CV which includes six world championship gold and three Olympic silver medals – but it is the glaring omission from her list of achievements that drives her on.

After a second-place finish in the Sydney Olympics in 2000, Athens four years later and then for a third time in Beijing in 2008, it is the lure of finally topping the podium in London this summer that gets Grainger out of bed every morning.
