Outer Hebrides in drive to attract more visitors

A new marketing organisation has been launched to boost tourism in the Outer Hebrides.

Around 200,000 people already visit the islands every year but the new Outer Hebrides Tourism Industry Association (OHTIA) wants to increase that figure.

The £150,000 initiative is backed by Western Isles Council, Scottish Natural Heritage and the Scotland Rural Development Programme’s Leader scheme.
