Last-minute eviction for park travellers

Aberdeen City Council was granted an 11th-hour eviction order to remove travellers from Hazlehead Park last night.

The local authority took action after 12 caravans parked up on Thursday evening.

The illegal encampment threatened to disrupt the Aberdeen Highland Games, which take place tomorrow.

The vehicles were in an area that organisers of the event normally use as a car park.
