Grainger and Watkins glide into Munich final

Scotland’s three-times Olympic silver medallist Katherine Grainger and her double sculls partner Anna Watkins had a straightforward win yesterday in their opening heat at the Rowing World Cup in Munich, to book a place in tomorrow’s final.

They led from the first stroke and cruised home comfortably ahead of the field. They passed the 1,500-metre mark with a six-second lead over New Zealand and paddled home after that.
