Urgent answers demand for bar ban at Sunshine Sports
Aberdeenshire Council’s licensing board convener has called for an urgent report into a last-minute marquee bar ban at a major weekend event.
Oldmeldrum Sports and Highland Games organisers face a big financial loss following Saturday’s shutdown.
Yesterday, sports secretary Gordon Forsyth was at the council’s offices at Inverurie to determine the reason for the bar closure at the town’s 82nd annual event – traditionally known as the Sunshine Sports – and said: “The reason seems to have been a different interpretation of the licensing regulations.”
