Syria military option can’t be ruled out, says Hague

Foreign Secretary William Hague insisted yesterday that military intervention in Syria cannot be ruled out because of the deteriorating situation in the country.
He told MPs that efforts were still focused on a peaceful solution to the conflict, but the use of force remained one of the options on the table.
The UN has said that at least 9,000 people have died in Syria since pro-democracy protests began in March 2011, including reports in recent weeks of massacres of civilians by forces loyal to President Bashar Assad's brutal regime.
