Pub firm says minimum pricing can be effective

Pub chain and brewer Greene King said yesterday the UK Government should harmonise its plans for minimum pricing with Scotland at 50p per unit.

The firm backed the idea of minimum pricing as a way of tackling irresponsible retailing and drinking.

It said: “Set at the right level, we believe this can be an effective measure.
