Water-plunge man sparks emergency on Loch Ness

A major rescue operation was mounted on Loch Ness yesterday after a young man fell into the water near Fort Augustus.

The man, in his early 20s, was travelling from a moored yacht in a tender dinghy when he fell in at around 4.50am.

His companion, also a young male, who was on the 60ft yacht called the coastguard.
