‘Fence-sitters’ could hold key to decision over City Garden

Aberdeen councillors who have been sitting on the fence regarding the City Garden Project say they need more time to digest a business case published this week.

The polarising plan to raise Union Terrace Gardens to street level is one of five regeneration schemes that could be funded through a proposed £92million loan.

A 132-page proposal to justify the use of tax increment financing (Tif) was distributed on Thursday to elected members, who will vote on the plans in August.
