Engineering students in pole position
A team of engineering students from the Aberdeen University is set to swap the lecture theatre for the race track, unveiling the racing car they hope will put them in pole position at Silverstone next month.
The 22-strong group, known as TAU Racing, has largely designed and built the single-seater racing car from scratch, backed by donations from sponsors including ADIL, the Aberdeen-headquartered independent energy consultancy. This is the company’s fourth consecutive year as main sponsor.
The challenge forms part of the 2012 Formula Student event, the testing ground for the next generation of engineers.
