Spurned lover who torched house jailed

A SPURNED lover who took revenge on his ex-partner by setting fire to her house – killing her pet dog – was jailed for two years yesterday.

During an 11-day trial at Fort William Sheriff Court, the jury heard that 28-year-old Mark Comrie had caused more than £75,000 of damage to the house in the village of Kinlochleven.

He was convicted and sentence was deferred until yesterday for background reports.
