Flowers reflect grief over Tornado aircrew

Floral tributes were left outside the Lossiemouth base yesterday as the names of the dead airmen were released.

A serviceman in a flight suit stood pensively at the gates where the flowers lay, as Tornados could be heard flying overhead.

Among the bouquets were heartfelt written tributes to the three men who lost their lives.

The MoD named them yesterday as Flight Lieutenant Hywel Poole, who died after being airlifted to hospital, and Squadron Leader Samuel Bailey and Flt Lt Adam Sanders, who are still missing and presumed dead.
