Flood defence scheme gets thumbs-up from residents

Elgin residents turned out en masse yesterday for a two-day exhibition on the progress of an £86million flood scheme for the town.

More than 200 people dropped into Elgin library to hear about the latest developments of the four-year project, which is the largest of its kind in Scotland.

The initiative, which started in April last year, is being co-ordinated by Moray Council, Royal Haskoning, Morrison Construction and EC Harris.
