Boss hits out at bank which did his business ‘no favours’

North-east businessman Forbes Shand is today blaming one of Britain’s biggest banks for the downfall of his company.
Huntly-based R.B. Farquhar slid into administration in November 2010, owing more than £10million to bank and trade creditors.
But Mr Shand said Bank of Scotland – part of Lloyds Banking Group – did R.B. Farquhar and its 100-plus workforce “no favours”.
The company chairman said he still could not fathom why administration was seen as the only way forward by a turnaround specialist sent in by Bank of Scotland.
