Billionaire’s ‘greatest course’ prepares to welcome the world

The first players will tee off at Donald Trump’s resort next week – more than six years after the US billionaire revealed his plans for “the greatest golf course anywhere in the world”.
Mr Trump and Scottish golfing legend Colin Montgomerie will be the first to drive up the first fairway at the official opening of the £60million course at Menie Estate on Tuesday.
The launch will be nearly two years to the day after work started on the 18-hole course.
More than 3,000 golfers have signed up to be the first to play on the championship links, which Mr Trump hopes will one day host a major tournament.
