Police rack up 87,000 sick days in three years
POLICE in the north and north-east have taken almost 87,000 sick days in the last three years, the Press and Journal can reveal.
The Grampian force has lost 57,442 working days due to officers and civilian staff calling in ill or missing duties for other reasons since 2009.
Neighbouring Northern Constabulary recorded a loss of 29,496 days. Both insisted there was a “determined effort” to keep the numbers down.
