Chambers expecting little or no growth in private sector

Confidence is ebbing away within Scotland’s private sector as the country struggles to shake off economic recession, a leading business group has said today.

Scottish Chambers of Commerce (SCC) reported that a weakening of business activity in the second quarter was fuelling a more cautious outlook and concerns about recovery prospects in the remainder of 2012.

Its gloomy findings are the result of a quarterly study carried out jointly with Strathclyde University’s Fraser of Allander Institute.
