Parking plea as 50,000 head for muddy Open

POLICE have urged golf fans to leave their cars at home and take the bus to the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open as more than 50,000 people are expected to descend on the event.

Days of rain have led to muddy conditions at on-site car parks at Castle Stuart, where golfers tee off today.

Police have asked spectators to opt for public transport instead of taking their cars.
