Nightmare ends for victim as bomber convicted

A MAN has been found guilty of trying to murder five people – including his ex-girlfriend and her new partner – in a terrifying petrol-bomb attack.

John MacDonald, 43, was convicted yesterday of starting an inferno at an Elgin flat, injuring all of those inside. He had denied attempted murder but a jury of nine men and five women took four-and-a-half hours to find him guilty.

Last night, one of his victims, George Lindsay, who still suffers nightmares after the firebomb attack, said he could sleep easy knowing MacDonald had been convicted. The court had heard MacDonald was unhappy about the relationship between his former partner, Lisa Sharp, and her new boyfriend, Mr Lindsay.
