Hundreds in campaign for Olivia ‘fraud’ justice
GRIEVING friends and family of schoolgirl cancer victim Olivia Downie have launched a campaign against a north-east woman who was accused of profiting from their ordeal.
Nearly 1,000 people have signed a petition in the past three days calling for the 29-year-old to be brought to justice – despite Crown officials dropping the case due to “insufficient evidence”.
Police investigated reports that the woman, who is from the Fraserburgh area, had collected £900 of donations for a sponsored walk in aid of Olivia’s appeal – but pocketed the cash herself.
