Fish fraudsters to cash in on £60m quota sale
A TOP north-east skipper who was implicated in Europe’s biggest black fish scam is poised to make a fortune from an EU quota deal worth about £60million.
Hamish Slater, from Fraserburgh, is selling off his legal rights to catch herring and mackerel, it emerged yesterday.
However, the move – which comes just months after he admitted making illegal landings – has triggered calls for a change in legislation.
