Game over for Mutch and Fotheringham

Forres golfer Bryan Fotheringham and Macduff teen-ager Lewis Mutch bowed out of the Scottish amateur championship at Royal Dornoch yesterday at the semi-final stage.

In his roller-coaster semi-final against Bearsden’s Richard Docherty, Fotheringham saw an early two-hole lead evaporate with bogeys at the fifth, sixth and seventh before further bogeys at the 10th and 11th saw the Forres man go three down.
