Boys rescued from cliff face

A major rescue operation was launched yesterday afternoon after three boys were stranded on a north-east cliff face.

Three coastguard teams were launched, along with the Macduff lifeboat and a helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth, after the boys became stuck on sheer rocks at Gardenstown.

The youngsters, aged 11, 13 and 14 were on holiday in the north-east with their family and had been exploring the caves at the bottom of the cliffs when the tide started to rise.
