AN INVERNESS mother has died after a two-vehicle crash on the banks of Loch Ness.

The collision early yesterday morning – on the A82 Inverness-Fort William road at the Abriachan junction – has led to calls for the accident blackspot to be upgraded.

Claire Macdonald was driving a black Renault Clio when it was involved in a collision with a silver Renault Megane at about 1.40am. Firefighters from Inverness and Drumnadrochit used cutting gear to remove casualties from the Clio but the 35-year-old died at the scene from her injuries.
