Defiant Dons step up search for site in shire

DIRECTORS of Aberdeen Football Club were last night drawing up a shortlist of sites for a new stadium outside the city.

The move was revealed at the end of a dramatic week in which the local council's Labour-led administration effectively ended the Dons’ hopes of building a ground at Cove and rejected the City Garden Project.

Executive vice-chairman George Yule confirmed that a number of alternative locations would be considered when the SPL club’s board meets on Monday.
