Golden girl Heather wins hearts at home

LOSSIEMOUTH’S golden girl Heather Stanning made a triumphant return to Moray yesterday to celebrate her historic Olympics success.

Crowds braved the rain to catch a glimpse of the Army captain – and her gold medal – as she was driven through Elgin in an open-top Land Rover.

She high-fived excited primary children and was presented with a scroll marking her achievement by council convener Stewart Cree.
