Rising-star footballer fined over attack on love rival

THE Highland League’s young player of the year has been given a £900 penalty for a drink-fuelled assault outside a pub just yards from his club’s ground.

Rising football star Scott Barbour lashed out in a jealous rage after seeing a former girlfriend in the arms of another man.

His victim, James Guthrie, lost three front teeth when he was punched, kicked and pushed to the pavement outside Fraserburgh’s Bellslea Bar.
