AECC aims to lure big stars with £20m arena

BOSSES at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre want to build a £20million arena to lure the world’s top music acts to the city.
The Press and Journal can reveal today that Beyonce, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Elton John and George Michael have all had to miss the north-east off recent tours because of capacity and other constraints at the Bridge of Don site.
And with a major new concert venue poised to open in Glasgow, there are fears that more stars will choose to play extra dates in the central belt rather than venture north.
