Rape-case accused’s ‘hell’ at an end as he walks free

AN INVERNESS man walked free from court yesterday after a jury found him not guilty of raping an 18-year-old woman in a city centre bin shed.

Robert Finnie was cleared after a five-day trial in Inverness during which the court heard a 999 operator’s recording of a woman screaming for help at the time of the alleged attack.

Outside the High Court in Inverness, the 21-year-old said he had endured almost two years of hell with the sex attack allegation hanging over him.
