Speeders caught out in crash road crackdown

POLICE patrolling one of Scotland’s most notorious roads are catching speeding motorists at a rate of one every three hours.

The shock figure was revealed at the launch of a new campaign aimed at cutting the toll of death and serious injury on the A947.

The 45-mile route between Banff and Aberdeen has been the scene of more than 150 crashes in six years – including 14 fatalities.
