Adventurer faces A9 100mph speed charge

THE world’s greatest adventurer has been accused of speeding at nearly 100mph on Scotland’s most notorious road.

Sir Ranulph Fiennes is alleged to have driven his two-litre, three-year-old silver Ford Mondeo at 98mph in a 70mph zone on the A9.

The 68-year-old is accused of committing the offence on a dual-carriageway section of the main Inverness-Perth route at Daviot, eight miles south of the Highland capital.
