NTS issues rallying call to north-east supporters

Bosses at the National Trust for Scotland issued a rallying call to supporters in Aberdeenshire yesterday after a disappointing summer left it facing higher-than-expected losses.

The charity had budgeted for a £1.2million deficit this year – but accountants have warned the shortfall is likely to be greater still.

Wet weather, the Olympics and the continuing recession combined to keep visitors away from its attractions.
