McFadden looks well out of Dons reach

Aberdeen manager Craig Brown would love to sign James McFadden but the Pittodrie club’s financial position will prevent him from doing so.

Brown remains in contact with the former Scotland international attacker, who is without a club since leaving Everton but a move to Aberdeen remains unlikely.

Brown, who will take his team to Inverness today to play Caley Thistle, failed to sign McFadden in January but has kept tabs on the player.
