Deal should be struck ‘within weeks’

Alex Salmond hopes that a deal can be struck on the independence referendum within a few weeks — but warned the talks could yet be “blown off course” by the UK Government.
The first minister met Prime Minister David Cameron at Downing Street yesterday as an agreement on the terms of the historic vote appeared to move closer.
Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon also held a meeting with Scottish Secretary Michael Moore in London, with another between the pair scheduled to take place next week.
