Murdered police officer grew up in north-east
One of the police officers murdered in Manchester grew up in Moray, it emerged yesterday.
Constable Fiona Bone was a former pupil of Hopeman Primary and Lossiemouth High School while her father Paul was stationed in the area with the RAF.
The 32-year-old was one of two female police officers killed in a gun and grenade attack in Manchester after they were called to investigate what appeared to be a burglary.
