Flood works threaten city-centre road chaos

INVERNESS city centre is facing months of traffic chaos due to work on the multimillion-pound flood alleviation scheme.

Parking will be banned in some areas, buses rerouted and streets dug up. The local authority has pledged to do all it can to minimise disruption.

But transport giant Stagecoach has “major concerns” that the work would have a “significant and negative impact” on many of its city services.
