Teenager’s penalty for near-death car smash ‘pathetic’

A WOMAN had to have a kidney removed after a teenager’s “appalling” driving caused a three-car pile-up on a north-east road.
Karen Findlay was cut free from the wreckage of her family car after Ross Simpson crashed while driving too fast in frosty conditions.
Her husband George, daughter Elizabeth, and the driver of the third vehicle, Derek Morrison, were also injured and taken to hospital.
