Heartbreak as blaze destruction hits farm

A NORTH-EAST farmer was left “heartbroken” last night after a blaze destroyed a barn containing crops and equipment worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.
About 30 firefighters were called to Mains of Dunnottar near Stonehaven after flames engulfed a building containing barley, hay, a combine harvester and a grain dryer.
Thick black plumes of smoke filled the air while sparks from the asbestos roof landed on piles of tyres, setting them alight and damaging about 800 tonnes of silage.
