No memory, but attack victim ruled fit to work

A MORAY man left brain-damaged after attackers kicked his head “like a football” has been declared fit to work by the government.

David Stewart – who has almost no short-term memory – could be denied sickness benefits after he passed a short medical test carried out for the Department for Work and Pensions.

His family said last night they were bewildered by the decision because he still needs round-the-clock care after spending months in hospital following the brutal assault.
