Community severs link to shamed Savile

Moves were taken to sever links between scandal-hit Sir Jimmy Savile and his adopted home of Lochaber last night as sexual abuse allegations continued to mount against him.

A Fort William hotel took down a sign in his honour, and a marketing group ditched an online video after it was attacked by internet “trolls” with one making a sick reference to missing Welsh schoolgirl April Jones.

The comedy video featuring an interview with Mr Savile was removed by Outdoor Capital of the UK (OCUK) marketing group last night. It also featured a range of well-known sportsmen, including Skye’s Danny MacAskill, hailed as the world’s best stunt biker, wearing garish tracksuits, purporting to be the TV star.
