Twin lambs born on a Perthshire hill farm have sold for a record-breaking £150,000 at a small Argyll mart. The young Blackface rams attracted huge interest at Dalmally, where one sold for a breed record-equalling £90,000 and the other for £60,000.
The combined price is thought to be the highest yet globally for sheep twins.
The trade capped a hugely successful day for Ian Hunter, 45, of Dalchirla, Muthill, Crieff, who sold another ram lamb at £24,000 and whose 35 year-old shearling rams topped at £13,000.
