Judges expected to give bypass the green light

After more than 60 years on the drawing board, a lengthy public inquiry, three court appeals and £115million of taxpayers’ money – the Aberdeen bypass should finally get the go-ahead today.

Business leaders and politicians hope five judges at the UK’s Supreme Court will this morning dismiss William Walton’s legal challenge against the £400million project.

That will clear the way for the Scottish Government to put the huge contract out to tender.
