‘Business as usual’ with single force
People living in the Highlands and islands will still deal with their local police officers after the introduction of the single police force for Scotland on April 1 .
This was the reassurance given by Rose Fitzpatrick, one of the four newly appointed deputy chief constables for the Police Service of Scotland, during a visit to Inverness to speak to local officers and staff yesterday.
Ms Fitzpatrick, 52, previously served in a number of deputy assistant commissioner posts in the Metropolitan Police Service and her role with the new force will be to lead local policing around Scotland, working with communities to keep people safe.
